It has also received a software update, allowing for a number of new features including new AF presets, 24 fps anti-dust mode, improved burst shooting performance, quality zoom, and more. The 5.1 μL wide-aperture CMOS II 4K in-body video recording system that’s been engineered to compensate for variations in lighting conditions and uses what’s known as “EV-DEP REC” technology. The camera’s standard operational specs include the 26.2-megapixel full-frame APS-C image sensor, which comes with a dynamic range equivalent to 24,000,000 tonnes. The processor has a Creative and Performance Mode that can be saved as an APS-C medium-format RGBB RAW image in real-time. It features a 42° lens rotation, enabling a circular object angle of view when shooting live-view video. It also shoots the CCG’s “ISS 1.5 and 2.0.” built-in 8-bit internal memory in 32GB, 48GB, 64GB, 128GB, or 128GB capacity, and delivers a large selection of parameters using a variety of Electronic Batch Function(EBF), Historical Zoom, Split/Collision AF, TruToColor, and Tracking AF. When not shooting on the dark side, the ZEISS mount also supports macro and super macro in-camera lenses. The EOS 6D Mark II’s internal pixels utilize the company’s Mobile XSI IC enabling approximately 18-bit resolution for 4K video recording and download onto computer memory.

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II is comfortable to use, with smooth electronic operation including a very quiet AF response. It offers a pleasing combination of ergonomics including a large and substantial display with easy hand-holding while viewing images. I found it easy to focus on my subject while capturing the best overall still-lovers shots. The body itself feels fine in my hand, with some loose ends that could be tightened with adjustable grips or using a tripod, but overall it is supported by solid construction. The drive motor has a 4,000 rpm operation, and I’ve been impressed with its solid 80 Hz refresh rate and responsiveness.
